Large White Sage smudge stick approximatley 22cm long
White Sage is very similar to the common garden sage and is traditionally used in Smudging by Native Americans making it the perfect addition to purification and cleansing incenses. It can also be used in healing magical workings.
 
Three thick Palo Santo sticks
Palo Santo or "Holy Wood" is a sacred tree that grows on the coast of South America. Traditionally this earthy scented wood was used by shamans, healers and elders in ritual prayer, purification ceremonies and for healing purposes. The ancients believed the tree had both magical and healing properties that would only be cultivated if the tree was allowed to live a full life and given a respectful death. They would only use wood from naturally fallen palo trees that had been lying peacefully for an extended period after which they were then dried, aged and eventually burned during rituals. The resulting sacred smoke bath was believed to have metaphysical properties that both purified negative energies and attracted positive ones. It is also well known for its healing properties:
Relieves headaches and helps with the common cold
Reduces stress and anxiety
Reduces inflammation and effects of allergies
 
10g of Frankincense resin
Frankincense incense resin is used for purification, protection, consecration and cleansing areas before rituals.
Frankincense resin is an opaque, milky white/cream colour and is obtained from the sap of the Boswellia Thurifera tree. The dried sap can be burned as incense either alone or blended with other herbs or resins. It gives off a lovely citrus/lemony scent that cleanses, purifies, consecrates and blesses the area by clearing it of negative energies and releasing any trapped spirits. It will quiet the mind and improve the ability to concentrate making it the perfect resin to burn during meditation. You can also put a piece of Frankincense resin in an amulet for good luck and to attract love and abundance.
 
Soex charcoal discs. Roll of 8. 
To Use: Remove a tablet from the sealed roll and place in a cauldron, shell or heat proof dish. Light the edge of the tablet with a lighter, match or candle. The tablet will then light across its surface. If the tablet is to be extinguished before it is fully cooled then it should be placed in a container of water. Always use on a heat proof surface.
Handy Hint: Place a few pebbles or some crystal sand in the bottom of your resin burner to provide an uneven surface so the heat can draw.
Once the charcoal is in place and alight sprinkle with Resin, Incense or Powder as required.
Warning: When the tablet has been lit do not handle it as it may cause a burn. Do not dispose of the ash remains in a bin as this may cause a fire. Do not hold the tablet in your hand when lighting or when burning.
 
Large Abalone shell
Representing the 'water' element of a 4-element ritual, the abalone shell is used to catch the ash and embers from your smudge stick or can hold charcoal discs with or without crystal sand. You can rest your smudge stick or Palo Santo on the shell before, during and after your cleansing ritual.
 
250g Black Quartz ritual sand
Place Ritual Sand in the bottom of a heat proof vessel (cauldron, abalone shell, copper offering bowl etc) & carefully rest your burning smudge stick, Palo Santo or charcoal disc on top of it. You can then stub out your smudge tool in the sand, or let the charcoal disc fully extinguish before removing it.
 
Wooden cobra stand
Place your abalone shell on top of the stand to help keep it level, or raise it off the surface of your alter.
 
Australian turkey smudge feather
A smudge feather is used to fan the smoke around the area you are cleansing. These are beautiful natural feathers, so there may be slight imperfections. The feather you receive may be a left or right wing, and can either be light or darker in colour.
